The Circle of Protection, a collaboration of 65 heads of Christian denominations, relief and development agencies, and other groups is an effort to call attention to poverty in the United States and around the world. The Circle of Protection is a non-partisan initiative that does not endorse candidates but emphasizes its belief that God holds nation’s accountable for how they treat those Jesus called “the least of these.” (Matthew 25:45) The group has launched videos from each of the presidential candidates, President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney, stating their positions on poverty.
