The Circle of Hope

The Circle of Hope is a not-for-profit organization based in Prince George’s County, Maryland founded by Hank Johnson and Jamal Spratley. The organization grew out of concern for the plight of African-American youth in the county and has its origins in the congregation of Ebenezer A.M.E Church in Fort Washington, Maryland. The Circle of Hope is our official video production team as a result of Executive Editor Walter Fields’ relationship with the group’s co-founder Jamal Spratley on another project in the nation’s capital. Today, the organization provides NorthStar News with on-the-ground video production support for covered events. We continue to work with The Circle of Hope to find ways to support young people and further the understanding of journalism by our youth.
