The NSnewstv.com news team will be on the ground in the nation’s capital for the events and activities celebrating the historic inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. The NorthStar team will be reporting from Washington, DC starting Sunday January 18 and Monday January, 19, the official Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday. On Inauguration Day the NSnewstv.com team will be on the ground at the Mall as the nation celebrates the historic inauguration.

Throughout the Inauguration weekend NSnewstv.com will provide periodic video and audio reports, as well as feature articles on the sights and sounds of the 53rd Presidential Inauguration. On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day NSnewstv.com will be at Cardoza Senior High School in the District of Columbia for a special youth rally sponsored by Rev. Al Sharpton, President of the National Action Network.

Our team will also report from several of the galas celebrating the inauguration of Barack Obama, including the Historically Black College and University Presidential Gala sponsored by the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO), the Hip Hop Summit Action Network gala hosted by Russell Simmons and a National Action Network dinner and reception hosted by Rev. Al Sharpton at B. Smith’s in Union Station.

The NSnewstv.com team will be “on the ground” on Inauguration Day as we bring you the stories of the people who have come from near and far to be part of history. Our video, audio, and photo updates will combine with a running blog from Executive Editor Walter Fields capturing history as it takes place. We encourage you to tune into C-SPAN, TV One or your public broadcast station for live coverage of the swearing-in ceremony and parade.
